Motor Mechanic

MJ Mechanical is seeking an experienced and reliable Motor Mechanic to join our automotive workshop team in Tasmania. The successful candidate will inspect, diagnose, service and repair a wide range of vehicles while maintaining high standards of safety, workmanship and customer service.

• Inspect vehicles and identify mechanical or electrical faults.
• Perform scheduled, logbook, major and minor servicing.
• Repair and replace engines, brakes, batteries and other components.
• Test vehicle systems using diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out engine tune-ups and routine maintenance.
• Repair steering, suspension, transmission and braking systems.
• Replace worn or damaged vehicle parts.
• Conduct road tests after completing repairs.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Keep tools and workshop areas clean and organised.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
• Explain identified faults and required repairs clearly.

• Relevant automotive mechanical qualification.
• Previous experience working as a Motor Mechanic.
• Strong vehicle diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of petrol and diesel vehicle systems.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Good communication and time-management skills.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

• $80,000 annual salary plus superannuation.
